Day of Audition Information

Beginning at 9:00am, Concordia's practice rooms will be available for warmup, and beginning at 9:30am, each singer/pianist team is assigned 15 minutes for rehearsal in the Auditorium. See the "Schedule" tab.

Upon arrival at Concordia, you are asked to CHECK IN at the table in the Lobby of the Buetow Music Center. Before being directed to the practice rooms and Auditorium, you will be asked to provide the following:
  • Proof of your age (21-35 on audition day) - Driver's License or Passport
  • Verification that all print music in use is original - no copies, even for page turns. Please reread the NATS Copyright Policy to be certain you are in compliance. Singers found to be in violation will be disqualified from advancing.

12:00 noon - contestants will meet in the Lobby to draw numbers for the afternoon singing order.

12:30pm - The audition begins. Each singer will be allotted 15 minutes of singing time.  You will be asked to sing a selection of your own choosing. Following that, the judges will select from listed repertoire until time runs out.  At the conclusion of the preliminary round, results will be tallied and announced.

Final Round: As of 9.19.19, a final round is not anticipated.

Dress:  Semi-formal "audition attire" is expected, but formal performance attire is not necessary.
